The converter uses the canvas in your browser, so your files stay on your device. AVIF and WebP export are offered when your browser supports them.

How to use

  2. Pick the target format: PNG, JPEG, WebP, or AVIF.

FAQs

Which formats can I convert between?
You can convert to PNG, JPEG, WebP, and AVIF. The source can be any image your browser can open, including PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP. PNG and JPEG export work in every browser, while WebP and AVIF export depend on your browser, so unavailable options are shown as disabled.
Why is AVIF disabled?
AVIF encoding is not available in every browser yet. The tool checks whether your browser can export each format and disables the ones it cannot produce. PNG, JPEG, and WebP are widely supported. If you need AVIF, try a recent version of Chrome or Firefox.
Does converting change the image size or quality?
The pixel dimensions stay the same. Converting to a lossy format like JPEG, WebP, or AVIF re-encodes the image at high quality, which can slightly change fine detail. Converting to PNG is lossless. To make a file smaller on purpose, use the image compressor.
What happens to transparency?
PNG, WebP, and AVIF keep transparency. JPEG does not support it, so when converting to JPEG any transparent areas are filled with white. If you need to keep a transparent background, convert to PNG, WebP, or AVIF instead.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion happens locally in your browser using the canvas. Your images are never uploaded or stored, so it is safe for private files.
