How to use

  1. Click the drop zone to browse, or drag a PDF file onto it.
  2. Wait a moment while the file is read in your browser.
  3. Review the metadata fields shown: title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, pages, and file size.
  4. Use Copy details to put all fields on your clipboard, or Reset to load another file.

Examples

  • A report saved with the title Quarterly Report and author Jane Doe shows Title: Quarterly Report, Author: Jane Doe, Pages: 3.
  • A PDF exported from a design app shows Producer set to the exporting library, while Title and Author read Not set.
  • A scanned document shows the page count and file size, with most text fields reading Not set.

FAQs

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, so your document stays on your device.
What does Not set mean next to a field?
It means that property was never written into the PDF. Many tools leave fields like title or author empty, so Not set is normal.
What is the difference between Creator and Producer?
Creator is usually the application that authored the original document. Producer is the library or tool that wrote out the final PDF file. They are often different.
Why does the file size differ from what my operating system shows?
The size shown here is the exact byte length of the file you selected. Some systems display sizes rounded to the nearest unit, which can look slightly different.
Can this open password protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted or password protected files cannot be read here. Remove the protection in a PDF viewer first, then try again.
Does viewing the metadata change my file?
No. The file is only read, never modified or saved. Your original PDF is left exactly as it was.
